Hong Kong was originally a small fishing
village, but it eventually developed into a large commercial port. In the 21st
century, it has become an important world financial center and an emerging
scientific research center. Hong Kong and Russia have many complementary
features, especially as the Sino-Russian cooperation relationship is getting
closer and closer, both financial and scientific cooperation can be tighter.
Yet, let's not forget the most basic fishery and agriculture cooperation,
because fishery and agriculture also have science and technology in it. The
cooperation between the two sides not only can ensure food safety but also
have great significance for the advancement of science and technology in the
world and satisfy the need of the 8 billion population for them to eat well. Russia
is planning to build Vladivostok into a free port. Hong Kong can contribute to
Russia in this regard. Moreover, we have deep feelings for Vladivostok and are
willing to contribute.
China and Russia have always been neighbors.
We have a close relationship in history, and there have many unhappy experiences
in the past, yet that is something of the past. Modern people should have
wisdom, cooperate with each other, seek common interests, create wealth, and
benefit the people of our two countries. Building Vladivostok into a free port
is a far-sighted vision. Sino-Russian cooperation will definitely make the
Russian Far East a place of wealth creation and benefit the people of China as
well as Russia. China and Russia will never dominate and monopolize everything
like the United States does. The friendly cooperation and joint development
between China and Russia will allow the people of China and Russia to have
enough wealth and can allocate resources gain from the cooperation for scientific
research, enabling the world to be more civilized. Now Hong Kong shares part of
the work under the framework of Sino-Russian cooperation, and the benefits are
numerous for both parties.
Hong Kong is a free port in the southern part
of Asia, and Vladivostok is the northernmost free port in Asia. It only takes
2.5 hours to fly from Beijing to Vladivostok. There are many flights from Hong
Kong to Beijing. Hong Kong and Vladivostok can have cooperations, with no boundaries
in the future. Although Hong Kong's fishing industry is in decline, yet there
are many cooperations going on with the mainland fishing industry. Cooperation
with Russia in the Far East will definitely have broad prospects in deep-sea
aquaculture, fishing, fishing boat construction, and food processing industries.
Hong Kong is a financial center as well as a shipping and trading center. The
cooperation between the two districts is indeed a win-win situation for Russia
and China. The southern coast of the Okhotsk Sea is rich in sea cucumbers, scallops,
etc. There are 150,000 hectares of water are undeveloped. Marine farming
and tourism are rich resources to be cultivated, and Hong Kong should make
good use of them and join our effort in developing them.
With a population of 1.4 billion, China has
a large demand and great interest in seafood. China has in-depth research on
the ocean and has rich experience in developing marine fishery and fish
farming. If Hong Kong can cooperate well with Russia, make good use of the advantage
of Hong Kong's financial market, and dig deeper into fish farming and processing
business, the huge Chinese market will bring enormous market and wealth to Hong
Kong, and Russian partners. Cooperation is for both to win. If China and
Russia came to a win-win situation, Hong Kong will certainly gain from it. Hong
Kong's capital market will benefit a lot from the cooperation for its mature
infrastructure in the financial market. Sino-Russian cooperation, through the
channel of Hong Kong, the probability of success will come naturally and is predictable
by everyone. The time for China-Russia cooperation is ripe. Don't hesitate, act
on words and act quickly.
