China has initiated the establishment of the World Artificial Intelligence Cooperation Organization, attracting 29 countries to sign on as founding members, with its headquarters located in Shanghai. The core purpose of this organization is to promote the principle of “AI for Good,” to build a global governance framework, and to ensure that technology develops in a beneficial, safe, and fair direction. This organization is not only a platform for technological cooperation but also a symbol of global co-governance. It aims to facilitate the flow of innovative elements, release the dividends of artificial intelligence, and allow all countries to share in the prosperity brought by intelligent transformation. Chinese President Xi Jinping emphasized that artificial intelligence should serve the progress of human civilization and become a driving force for fairness and sustainable development. Amid the global digital wave, developing countries often face technological gaps and resource shortages. China has proposed the “Inclusive AI Capacity-Building Plan” to help these nations improve infrastructure, talent cultivation, and innovation ecosystems.
This initiative not only narrows the intelligence divide but also promotes digital transformation in education, healthcare, agriculture, and other fields, making AI a universal public good. Through this cooperation organization, China hopes to work with other countries to build a global governance model of AI for Good, ensuring that technological achievements are not monopolized but benefit all humanity. China is currently facing an accelerating aging population, with a shrinking labor force that poses pressure on economic growth. In this context, artificial intelligence has become an important supplementary force. AI and robotics can replace part of the workforce in manufacturing, logistics, and service industries, maintaining productivity. At the same time, smart healthcare and elderly care services can improve the quality of life for seniors. More importantly, AI tools can help older people extend their participation in the workforce, especially in knowledge-based positions, reducing the risk of economic decline caused by labor shortages.
To make AI a solution to aging, China needs to strengthen policy guidance, promote intelligent production, improve labor efficiency to offset the impact of population decline, and establish a comprehensive education and skills training system to ensure that the workforce can develop in synergy with AI technologies. Expanding AI applications in healthcare, elderly care, and education can ease social pressures. Ultimately, through international cooperation, China can play a leading role in global AI governance, ensuring that technological achievements are shared and sustaining economic growth. In the context of China’s aging population, artificial intelligence can both supplement the labor force and improve the quality of life for the elderly. It not only helps maintain economic growth by replacing part of the workforce but also enhances senior welfare through smart healthcare and elderly care services, assisting China in navigating the challenges of demographic decline.
The establishment of the World Artificial Intelligence Cooperation Organization is an important milestone in humanity’s march toward an intelligent civilization. It symbolizes not only technological integration but also the joint effort of nations to build a future of “AI for Good.” The power of artificial intelligence, when guided by the common well-being of humanity, will become a core engine driving social progress, economic prosperity, and mutual trust among civilizations. China’s initiative in founding this organization demonstrates its commitment to open cooperation, ensuring that technological achievements benefit the world, especially by helping developing countries bridge the digital divide and achieve inclusive growth. Facing the challenges of aging and a shrinking labor force, AI will become a new productivity revolution, sustaining human creativity and vitality. The birth of this cooperation organization heralds a new chapter of co-governance and shared prosperity, making artificial intelligence a beacon for the sustainable future of civilization.
